My first Indonesian experience was during
a break from college in the summer of 1994. I was walking
down a narrow alley in Java that led to a sunlit room in the back of
a small silver shop. Here a weathered smith was sitting at a rustic
workbench heating silver on a coal fire. With his bare hands he bent
and shaped a sterling strand, working with meticulous attention and
skill, as his family had for generations.

The city where the old smith worked was abundant with beauty but the place
I was most drawn too was Bali. This island overflowed with ornately-carved temple
stone entryways and elaborate prayer offerings made from fresh fruit and flowers. I fell
in love with the people, their colorful symbolism, and the wonderful healing energy
that permeated daily life.

Inspired by my summer travels, I returned home to New Mexico and started a jewelry
company. My designs are influenced by nature, ancient cultures and of course Bali.
I travel often to Indonesia for rejuvenation and inspiration. I have created a fair trade
partnership with my silversmiths who hand craft our beautiful silver ornaments...
continuing the same age old tradition as the first smith I met so many years ago.

The new Collection, full of incredible artisanship, is infused with a creative spirit that my team and the Indonesians are blessed with. The 2008 Catalog reflects my belief that body adornment is an expression of inner beauty.

May we find peace in the New Year,
